Today, Finding Focus officially went live.
It's quite strange writing that, because if you'd told me a while ago that I'd be sitting here with my own photography website, sharing not just my photographs but some very personal parts of my life, I'd probably have laughed.
This was never something I planned.
It started with a photograph on a beach during a difficult time in my life. No expensive camera, no grand ambitions, and certainly no thoughts of building a website.
Just a moment I wanted to remember.
Somewhere along the way, photography became something much bigger than I'd expected. It gave me a reason to get outside, to explore, to slow down and, perhaps most importantly, to find a little peace when my head wasn't always the easiest place to be.
And now, here we are.
Over the past few days, I've been putting this website together, going back through photographs, choosing images that mean something to me, and trying to find the right words to explain what Finding Focus is really about.
It's been exciting, frustrating at times, and surprisingly emotional.
But today made all that worthwhile.
After sharing the website, I received a message from someone who knows my journey well. They told me that reading my story had changed how they saw my photographs. That they could now see a depth and emotion in them they hadn't experienced before.
That meant more to me than I can properly explain.
Because that's what I hoped Finding Focus might do.
I don't know where this will lead. Maybe it'll grow into something bigger, maybe it won't.
What I do know is that I want to keep taking photographs, exploring places, making prints, and sharing the moments and experiences along the way.
If somebody connects with an image, enjoys following the journey, or finds a little encouragement to get outside and discover something that helps them, then that's enough for me.
So this is the beginning of the Journal, and the next chapter of Finding Focus.
Thanks for being here.
